Stepping into Hotel Arcata felt like traveling back in time, with its tall ceilings and elegant woodwork creating a charming atmosphere. Located right on the plaza, we enjoyed a peaceful Sunday night stay in August. the comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep. Although I only had tea, the vintage charm of the hotel was marred by poor plumbing in the bathroom sink and musty odors from the aged carpet. the room, advertised as larger, was cramped due to an oversized bed. Housekeeping service was lacking, and a missing item was a disappointment. The hotel's central location near Arcata Plaza is perfect for exploring the town's attractions. Ample parking options, friendly staff, and cozy morning offerings of coffee and bagels added to the pleasant stay. the historical ambiance, complete with interesting photographs, and spacious room with a large tub were highlights. the attached Japanese restaurant adds to the experience, and the hotel's proximity to local activities and dining options enhances the stay.
